I invite you to enroll (At No Charge - FREE!) as a member business of the LiveUptown.com Harlem Card Customer Discount Program. To date, 45+ Harlem businesses have joined. We are ONLY offering this opportunity to those businesses that cater to the lifestyle of upscale consumers.
We plan to distribute 20,000 Harlem cards for FREE throughout Harlem, Manhattan Valley and Morningside Heights. To further support those Harlem restaurants and retailers participating in the LiveUptown.com Harlem Card: Customer Discount Program (selected based on reviews and personal recommendations), we plan to provide a FREE listing in the Harlem Book. The Harlem Book is a printed publication of the Harlem businesses that are vital to find before, during and after the moving process (20,000 copies per year -- dropped off on the doorsteps of Harlem brownstones -- each book has a Harlem Card stapled to it).
In addition, LiveUptown.com plans to produce two minute video commercials of each member business -- to air on LiveUptown.com. People looking to live, shop or dine in Harlem will be able to view video commercials of businesses that cater to their upscale lifestyle (click on the following link for an idea of how we plan to produce our videos: SavoryCities.com).
Over the last 5 years, thousands of professionals have moved into Harlem. Unfortunately, most are unaware of the scores of businesses that serve their lifestyle needs (as a result, too many professionals still feel forced to do much of their shopping outside of Harlem).
By working together, LiveUptown.com can drive new consumers to your business.
The Harlem Card offers businesses an appealing alternative to traditional forms of advertising by removing the risk of paying upfront fees for advertising that may not result in new customers. The LiveUptown.com Harlem Card allows businesses to reach Harlem upper income residents without paying any advertising fees for ad space.
Member businesses are advertised at no cost in the LiveUptown.com Harlem Club directory of Customer Discount Program Partners. In turn, member businesses must offer a discount of 5% or more to cardholders when they present their cards. The result is simple-member businesses advertise to a large audience, but need only offer a discount to patrons that the advertising brings in.

Rules of Uses (1-1-11)
Cardholders are afforded discounts of 5 percent or more at local upscale restaurants & retailers, without the hassles of coupons, reward programs or hidden fees. Cardholders simply present their LiveUptown.com Harlem Card when making a purchase and receive their discount on the spot.
Use of the LiveUptown.com Harlem Card signifies acceptance and understanding of these terms and conditions. The 2009 LiveUptown.com Harlem Card program expires on December 31, 2009 and is valid during all normal business hours, every business day, except holidays and when stated otherwise. LiveUptown.com Harlem Card is neither a Credit Card nor a gift certificate. Discounts are applicable only when dining in, one discount card per table, or per transaction.
When using the directory, read each advertisement carefully and thoroughly, and respect the merchants' participation and employees by not requesting exceptions or substitutions to advertised offers. And please remember:
-- When tipping, base your tip on the entire check before your LiveUptown.com Harlem Card discount. This is a true reflection of your satisfaction with the service and your generosity will assure their cheerful and continued participation in the program.
-- Present your LiveUptown.com Harlem Card during the transaction and before the bill is totaled so the employee does not have to void the initial transaction.
-- Businesses reserve the right to exclude happy hour, take-out, deliveries, and groups larger than four people, special events and holidays. Discounts cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion and exclude tax and gratuity.
-- Discounts do not apply to alcohol.
-- The list of merchants participating in the program is constantly changing. Due to circumstances beyond LiveUptown.com, LLC's control, merchants periodically drop from the program or change their discount offer. At the same time, new businesses may join the program. For the most updated listing, please refer to the website. If the merchant does not appear on the website, it is no longer in the program. You are not entitled to a discount if a merchant has dropped out of the program, so be sure to check the website frequently. By purchasing and using the LiveUptown.com Harlem Card, you agree to the evolving nature of our participating restaurants and businesses.
-- In the event that a participating merchant changes the discount offer or does not honor the LiveUptown.com Harlem Card for any reason, LiveUptown.com, LLC is not responsible. This may occur because of change of ownership, management, or a misinformed employee. However, LiveUptown.com, LLC will use reasonable efforts to attempt to secure the merchant's compliance with the program.
-- For non-dining establishments, discount applies to in-store, regularly priced merchandise only and cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion.
-- For dining establishments, the following major holidays are excluded: New Year's Eve and Day, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve and Day.
-- In addition, while certain franchisees of national merchants with multiple locations may offer a discount, not all franchises or locations participate in the program.
